If you’re from Delaware and you don’t know who Nadjah Nicole is, urgency is requested in transplanting you from your domicile located beneath a rock. During her stint on season nine of the reality musical talent show The Voice, she received much fanfare from the press and from her online admirers who acquainted themselves through the show. While she didn’t bring back the grand prize, her return to the home where she learned to sing in the church choir, was cheered loudly and she’s enjoyed a bit of local celebrity while also trying to also keep things in perspective. Post-reality TV, she’s refined her voice, style and stage presence into something that is assured, adamant and true-to-self. Stripped of the Hollywood pretension, she seems at home serenading an audience with a jaunty, jazzy melody or getting out in front on a powerful soul anthem. Since her big television debut in 2015, she has played and sang at countless shows up and down her First State home and around the region. Her set at the Clifford Brown Jazz Festival the following year roused the downtown Rodney Square crowd with a stirring performance full of hometown pride as much as spirited talent. It’s pretty much a done deal that she’s going to knock her Ladybug 2017 show out of the park as well.
