Located right outside of downtown Wilmington, Quaker Hill's atmosphere and history has been compared to the historical Georgetown and Society Hill areas.
The neighborhood has ties to the Revolutionary War era, with original homes, office and churches still standing. The cemetery at the Wilmington Friends House is the burial site of one of America's founding fathers John Dickinson as well as the celebrated abolitionist Thomas Garrett.
Although the community has a strong sense of history, it is a forward-thinking neighborhood with an active historic preservation organization and neighborhood association.
