Brandywine Village

The historic neighborhood of Brandywine Village began as a milling town with a dozen water-powered flour mills operated aliong the Brandywine at the height of the community.

Today, the residents are a close knit group committed to the vitality of the area which include many unique shops and services.

The neighborhood has an active community organization called the Greater Brandywine Village Revitalization.

The organization's mission is to improve the quality of life in the greater Brandywine Village area by developing and implementing a Comprehensive Master Plan for the improvement of safety, housing conditions, transportation, economic development, and historic preservation and to coordinate the effort of various civic and governmental organizations in revitalizing North Market Street and the Greater Brandywine Village area.
