Band Aid, the refreshingly raw, real, and hilarious feature debut from Zoe Lister-Jones, is the story of a couple, Anna (Zoe Lister-Jones) and Ben (Adam Pally), who can't stop fighting.

Advised by their therapist to try and work through their grief unconventionally, they are reminded of their shared love of music. In a last-ditch effort to save their marriage, they decide to turn all their fights into song, and with the help of their neighbor Dave (Fred Armisen), they start a band.

A story of love, loss, and rock and roll, Band Aid is a witty and perceptive view of modern love, with some seriously catchy pop hooks to boot.

This comprehensive and lively installation explores the work of one of America’s original “Mad Men.” McCauley (“Mac”) Conner (born 1913) created advertising campaigns for a variety of products during the decade when the advertising industry was at its height and centered on Madison Avenue. His illustrations for leading women’s magazines such as Redbook and McCall’s animated a wide range of popular literature, from romantic fiction and detective stories, to topics of import such as Cold War anxiety and juvenile delinquency. His work is a “time capsule” of an era when commercial artists helped to redefine American style and culture.

Somerville Manning Gallery joins in celebration of the 100th birthday of Andrew Wyeth with an exhibition of original paintings June 6 To July 29, 2017. Wyeth is a pivotal artist in the international art scene who maintained his own form of realism during a shift from modernism to abstract expression. In the face of art world criticism that favored the current mode of abstraction, Wyeth steadfastly painted his own mind and style, using representationalism to express his deep innermost feelings and emotion. Careful examination of his subject and a multitude of studies was his style.

The collection at Somerville Manning Gallery will include major works and studies in both watercolor, dry brush, and tempera, the mediums Wyeth used. Andrew Wyeth was a great influence on the art from the Brandywine Valley. Seeing an exhibition of his work at the Somerville Manning Gallery location, an old textile mill on the Brandywine River, allows the viewer to experience his painting in the light and atmosphere from which it was painted.
