Don’t miss Delaware’s best fireworks show! This members-only event is held each year, two Fridays in June. It is a spectacular evening of family fun. Tickets must be purchased in advance. Members who purchase tickets are encouraged to bring a picnic dinner, blankets, coolers, and chairs. Event includes raffles and silent auction with great prizes. This event is weather dependent; check www.Hagley.org for postponement announcements.

Explore the galleries and grounds and soak in music by Betty and the Bullet (Michael Davis, Bethany Bullet, and David Poland), providing an evening of hard hittin’ Americana roots music. Hop on a sunset tram ride and enjoy our beer garden. If you're a plant lover, join Chris Strand, Brown Harrington Director of Garden and Estate, Winterthur, at 6:00 and 7:00 pm for an outdoor stroll to discover June’s flowers that brighten the Winterthur Garden in early summer. Learn a little about Mr. duPont's vision for his garden, and how you can adapt those concepts to your own home.

Aaron Morris, preventive conservation aid, Winterthur, will offer a mobile photography workshop, which will include an overview of the use of your standard camera app as well as the supplementary apps available via your app store. Participants will shoot some photos and upload them to a shared account to critique.

This comprehensive and lively installation explores the work of one of America’s original “Mad Men.” McCauley (“Mac”) Conner (born 1913) created advertising campaigns for a variety of products during the decade when the advertising industry was at its height and centered on Madison Avenue. His illustrations for leading women’s magazines such as Redbook and McCall’s animated a wide range of popular literature, from romantic fiction and detective stories, to topics of import such as Cold War anxiety and juvenile delinquency. His work is a “time capsule” of an era when commercial artists helped to redefine American style and culture.
