Legendary country musician Willie Nelson, the Red Headed Stranger, will make his Grand debut on Sunday, June 17 at 7:00 PM in Copeland Hall!
Nelson, who just turned 79 on April 30, has been a mainstay of country music and American culture for decades, and his endless songbook includes such classics as “On The Road Again,” “Always on My Mind,” “Crazy,” “Whiskey River,” and “Blue Eyes Cryin’ in the Rain.”
Nelson – who has been lauded with awards from multiple Grammys to the Kennedy Center Honors – will release his latest album, Heroes, May 15. In addition to his storied music career, Willie Nelson is an accomplished film and TV actor, author, poet, and activist.
The June 17 Willie Nelson concert will be the first event in a planned country music series presented in partnership with WDSD Radio. Grand Country Nights, more concerts of which will be announced with the 2012-13 season, is an initiative to offer more country music at The Grand to serve the many country fans in the region.
