The festival is a family-friendly day that celebrates the cultural and natural resources of Alapocas Run State Park. The star of this celebration is a Delaware native tree, the Pawpaw. Visitors can learn more about this little known plant and its relationship with the Zebra Swallowtail Butterfly through hikes, informative displays and tastings.
Festival activities include storytelling, folk art vendors and demonstrations, guided hikes, live music and a special guest presentation with Andy Moore, author of Pawpaw: In Search of America's Forgotten Fruit. Food and drink will be available for purchase from local food trucks.
This event is made possible by support of the Delaware State Parks, the Friends of Wilmington Parks, and the Delaware Humanities Forum.
