Universal Funk Order is an 8-piece, all-original funk band from Newark, Delaware. Their music is a force of energetic and powerful rhythms and melodies that are intriguing to the ears of just about any music appreciator young and old, hence “universal”. Guitar, bass, drums, saxophone, trumpet, trombone, supremely soulful vocals, and a whole lot of passion are the ingredients that Universal Funk Order contains to make a party happen wherever they go. 

While holding down their own original sound, Universal Funk Order incorporates influences from the greats - The Brothers Johnson, Galactic, Maceo Parker, Tower of Power, Erykah Badu, The Meters, James Brown, P-Funk, Stevie Wonder, Jamiroquai, Liquid Soul, Lettuce, The Roots, and many more. Their attention to detail and overall tightness shines through in every song and sends a message to their audience – “We’re here and we came to play!” 

While the band is young on the scene, they are no strangers to the stage. With over ten years of touring experience, individual members of the group have shared the stage with the likes of Robert Randolph and the Family Band, Soulive, John Scofield, B.B. King, The Jeff Coffin Motet, The Wailers, Minus The Bear, 30 Seconds To Mars, Portugal The Man, Foxtrot Zulu, Uncle Sammy, and more. Universal Funk Order takes their individual experiences in the music world and bonds them together to perform an explosion of an infectious, electrifying sound that will get you stomping your feet, clapping your hands, and dancing all night long.
