Family Focused

Join DCH, New Castle Conservation District staff, and Delaware Cooperative Extension to grow and learn together through an entire season! Classes are designed for a beginner, but seasoned gardeners will walk away with new knowledge, too. Families are welcome, and a separate area for children's activities will be provided. Each class is $20 Members, $30 Non-Members. Community gardeners can register for a discounted rate. All classes are held at DCH. For details, contact Ruth Arias, Community Gardens Liaison.

Discover how to grow common herbs and how to properly dry, preserve, and store them to enjoy year-round.

Small Spaces Series: Pests, Weeds, and Water

Wednesday, June 13, 6 - 8 p.m.

Get prepared to manage the hot, weedy, buggy part of the season, including common insect and disease damage, weeds, and moisture.

Small Spaces Series: Harvesting and Preserving

Wednesday, August 8, 6 - 8 p.m.

Learn when to pick, what to refrigerate, and safe preservation techniques from canning to drying. Bring surplus produce to share with one another!
