Respect to the QueenZ will feature hip-hop performances, graffiti workshops, and music by women. This event aims to bridge gaps in the community, bringing families and individuals of all types and ages together through music and dance.

With live performances by Nene Ali, Maya Belardo, Sole Rebel, Dance 4 Life, Goody Roc, Shy Lady Heroin, and more hosted by Abundance child and DJ Amore on the turntables.

DJ Amore is the co-owner of Intlx Productions, a production company based out of Harlem NYC, founded by Harlem School of The Arts Alumni J. Bada (Cellist & Pianist) and DJ/Producer Amore in 1998. Also, DJ for the infamous Wizards of The Styles Crew. Recognized not only as a collector for her classic golden era, soul, funk, rare groove break sets, she has also gained notoriety for her razor sharp scratching and remixing skills. Placed Top 6 World Competitor for Serato Flip Battle. She is not only a DJ, but a turntablist as well as a portablist.

Erin “Goody Roc” Goodwin travels all over the world performing, battling, and teaching. As a performer, she was a background dancer for the legendary MC Kurtis Blow (The Breaks, Basketball) in the Bronx. She was also an actor/dancer in the College Humor commercial for Vitamin Water as a “Bumble Bee-Girl,” alongside her fellow dancer, B-boy Nemesis. Erin was awarded “Cyper Queen” at the first Urban Dance & Educational Foundation (UDEF) breakdance event in Philadelphia. She was also a winner of the “Cypher Medallion Hunter” at the Rockafellaz Anniversary in Warsaw, Poland. In 2015, she was nominated for “Up & Coming Dancer” at the Rep Your Style Dance Awards NYC. She is also the founder and organizer of the annual event “Queen B-Girl,” a b-girl and all female all style competition in NYC. In addition to being an active member in MMR, she also represents the All female allstyles crew Ladies Adios.

Maya Belardo is from Wilmington, DE and her purpose and passion is to heal and inspire through music. In 2013, Maya was part of the American High School Honors Performance Choir and performed at Carnegie Hall in NYC. Maya graduated from high school in June 2016, and moved to New York City to pursue her music career. She opened for artists such as Kandace Springs, Jaguar Wright, Gerald Veasley, etc. She was also the opening headliner for the 28th annual Clifford Brown Jazz Festival. Maya’s hope is to use her voice to rekindle people’s love for jazz.

NeNe Ali, spoken word / MC, was born and raised in the Bronx. She started writing poetry at the age of six and began performing it at the age of nine. In her journey, she has toured around this country uplifting audiences with her words. She is the youngest person to receive Miami Heat superstar Dwayne Wade’s “Keeper of the Village Award” and the Nelson Mandela “Community Activist Award,” and has been featured in countless publications.

Shy Lady Heroin is an artist, writer, advocate, mentor, public speaker, and business entrepreneur born and raised in Baltimore, MD. Shy dropped two mixtapes in 2008 “B=More Street Movement” and “Queen of the Streets,” and in 2015, “Til Death Do Us Part.” Shy Lady Heroin is set to release her latest project “Queen of the Streets II” in July 2017. She has several singles out and has also been a ghostwriter for numerous artists. She won the title as the first ever Queen of the MIC in 2008. She promotes shows and has opened for artists like Black Sheep, Beanie Sigel and Nappy Roots.

DANCE 4 LIFE School of the Arts and Training Institute is under the direction of Chauntee D. Andrews. Offering classes for ages three and up in ballet, jazz, modern, hip hop, tap, contortion, pointe, acrobatics, and adult classes. The school is home to two traveling dance troupes and the company the Delaware Contemporary Dance Theatre. These dancers have had several performance and appearance opportunities such as- the live broadcast of the 6abc Dunkin Donuts Thanksgiving Day Parade, Wawa Welcome America celebrations, Philadelphia Mayor Nutter’s Holiday Tree Lighting Ceremony, the Lincoln Financial Field, Good Morning America with host Ginger Zee and the Democratic National Convention just to name a few.

Dilcia Gonzalez-Queiro aka Sole Rebel is a Dominican creative, by way of the Bronx. She’s a musician, song writer, rapper, singer and producer, and uses hip hop to empower Black Latinx and women in a very male-dominated industry. She’s also an illustrator and street artist. Sole just released her first EP in June.
