Presented by Emad Hemede
(Rain Date: Sunday, September 17)
Emad Jano Hemede is a painter and sculptor from Syria. In this installation and performance piece, Hemede creates a dance floor designed with Middle Eastern patterns in flour and destroys it through an interpretive dance performance. The flour symbolizes life in its fragile form and the performance illustrates how the peace and beauty that previously existed in Syria is now shattered by conflict.
