The exhibition title stems from the 1977 song by the Talking Heads' musician David Byrne, who composed the words, "My building has every convenience... It's gonna make life easy for me... It's gonna be easy to get things done." Inspired, Ledford researched anthropological ceramic traditions used as narratives about culture, individual relationships and activity. His ensembles explore mid-century ideologies of modern conveniences that question women's roles, mass marketing, mass consumption, and the dogmatics of suburbia. By combining traditional ceramic techniques with the politics of the modern workplace, Ledford underscores the notion that art can be the antidote to social expectations. Ledford's ensembles of familiar domestic spaces, the living room, kitchen, or home media center, offer familiar comfort to the viewer and beg the question "if walls could talk....?" Ledford received his BFA with honors, Summa Cum Laude, from the Tyler School of Art, and is the Recipient of the prestigious Wingate Fellowship. In addition to the Archie Bray Foundation, Ledford has been an Artist-in-Residence at Watershed Center for Ceramic Arts in New Castle, Maine and Guldagergaard International Ceramic Center in Skælskør, Denmark.  He has exhibited nationally and internationally including, Denmark, South Korea, Germany, Sweden, Iceland, Italy, and Poland. His work is on display in numerous permanent collections. Supported by the Windgate Fellowship Award administered by The Center for Craft, Creativity & Design Avery E. Draper Gallery
